Summer Tourism in Central Asia

Global tourism continues to shift toward experience-led travel, with travelers increasingly prioritizing authentic cultural experiences, outdoor recreation, wellness and nature-based tourism. At the same time, event tourism, improved air connectivity, premium hospitality, technology and AI, and sustainability are becoming key drivers shaping the future of destinations worldwide.

Against this global backdrop, Central Asia is emerging as a promising tourism region, supported by growing international connectivity, infrastructure investment and the diversification of tourism products. Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan are expanding beyond traditional sightseeing to develop mountain resorts, lakeside destinations, ecotourism, wellness and year-round leisure experiences.
The region's strong natural assets — from Kazakhstan's lakes and mountain landscapes to Uzbekistan's Chimgan–Charvak cluster and Kyrgyzstan's Issyk-Kul and Tien Shan — create significant potential for summer and four-season tourism development. Large-scale resort projects and infrastructure improvements are further strengthening the region's appeal to both travelers and investors.
